Baikonur Pix – July 8

I will be writing another journal entry on what we are doing today, but this happened yesterday with great descriptions below!!!!

This from Sunday’s encapsulation of the Soyuz spacecraft into its upper stage at the Baikonur Cosmodrome Integration Facility…spacecraft and booster mating is Wednesday, rollout is Thursday.

With the upper stage of the Soyuz booster in the foreground and the Soyuz TMA-05M spacecraft in the background, technicians at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan prepared to encapsulate the Soyuz vehicle into its booster July 8, 2012, setting the stage for the launch of Expedition 32/33 Soyuz Commander Yuri Malenchenko, NASA Flight Engineer Sunita Williams and Flight Engineer Aki Hoshide of the Japan Exploration and Space Agency July 15 to the International Space Station for a four-month mission.

At the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, the Soyuz TMA-05M spacecraft is readied for its encapsulation into the upper stage of its Soyuz booster July 8, 2012 in advance of its rollout to the launch pad July 12 and the launch of its occupants, Expedition 32/33 Soyuz Commander Yuri Malenchenko, NASA Flight Engineer Sunita Williams and Flight Engineer Aki Hoshide of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency July 15 for a four-month mission on the International Space Station.
